Quotes

Dale Earnhardt Jr.: “I’m looking forward to getting back in the XFINITY car this weekend at Kentucky. I always enjoy running the Hellmann’s colors. They’ve been very supportive of JR Motorsports for a long time, so we also want to get a good finish for them, and I expect we’ll be able to do that. The track has a rough surface because the asphalt is older, so getting the balance right will be very important for Friday night.”

Notes

VETERAN’S FIRST XFINITY RACE AT KENTUCKY: NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) veteran Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be making his Kentucky debut in NXS competition this weekend. The Sparta, Ky. track hosted its first XFINITY race in 2001, two seasons after Earnhardt Jr. moved to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) full time and stopped running the full NXS schedule.

EARNHARDT’S SPARTA STATS: While Earnhardt Jr. has never raced in the NXS at Kentucky Speedway, he has four NSCS starts at the 1.5-mile oval with one pole (June 2013), two top-five and two top-10 finishes, leading a total of 10 laps.

JRM AT KENTUCKY: JRM made its first foray into XFINITY racing at Kentucky Speedway in June 2006. In June 2014, the company recorded its first win at the Sparta facility with driver Kevin Harvick and the No. 5 (now the No. 88) team. In 23 total starts with 15 different drivers, JRM has earned one victory, seven topfive finishes and eight top 10s, with an average finish of 13.3.

HELLMANN’S NEW SQUEEZE BOTTLE: The No. 88 Chevrolet Camaro will feature a fresh “Hellmann’s Squeeze” paint scheme for the July 10 event. The makeover is a nod to Hellmann’s newly-designed squeeze bottle created after Hellmann’s discovered that more than 1,000 pounds of mayonnaise were trapped inside its old squeeze bottles. The phrase, “Squeeze More Out,” scribed across the hood of the blue and yellow Chevrolet refers to the new bottle’s ability to get more mayo out than ever before. FINAL 2015 NXS RACE FOR EARNHARDT JR.: Kentucky’s event is the last of four races for Earnhardt Jr. in the No. 88 JRM “All-Star” car this season. In his first three starts, the two-time NXS champion led 25 laps (at Texas Motor Speedway) and earned one top-five and two top-10 finishes, helping get the No. 88 team to its current position in the top five of the NXS owners standings.
