MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Feb. 13, 2017) – Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s love of animals is no secret to JR Nation. From his dogs, Gus and Junebug, to his American Bison--Laverne, Shirley, Flo and Vera—the Earnhardt homestead features various species around the property.
This past weekend, Dale Jr. and wife Amy went up I-77 to Statesville, N.C. to visit Ryan and Krissie Newman’s Rescue Ranch, an 87-acre parcel of land that houses many rescue animals and some that are unique…to rural North Carolina, at least. The Rescue Ranch is likewise a labor of love for the Newman’s, who started it in order to teach its visitors about conservation for animals, including wildlife, in agriculture and the environment.
A good time was had by all…except maybe the hedgehog.
